Winter Play for Kids Arctic Sensory Bin

Is it snowing at your house? We don’t get much snow here in southern California and usually have to take a day trip to play in fresh snow. Snow or no snow kids love winter crafts and play ideas so we’ve put together an arctic sensory bin that your little ones can play with indoors on a cold winter afternoon. This is also a fun way to cool off during the warm summer months!

Sensory activities allow kids to feel different textures, experiment with hot, cold, wet, dry, and of course play! This arctic sensory activity has cold ice, dry snow, cold water, and a variety of small world play creatures. You can add any animals you’d like to your arctic sensory bin but just in case you need suggestions, we have a list below.

  • Trees, rocks, plants and/or snowflakes
  • Arctic creatures
  • Ice in water
  • A bin
  • Artificial Snow

Slowly pour the fake snow into your bin, pushing it off to one side.

Carefully pour the ice water on the empty side of the bin.

Add animals to the water and land.

Finish off with any other land or water accessories like trees and snowflakes.
